Latin, research update and a Wild Extravagance

In a fit of enthusiasm this week, I’ve started to create a page of useful Latin words, numbers and phrases for you.

I’ve also revamped the site a tad, as far as spam filters and captcha codes are concerned – please see the sticky at the top of the page.  Please don’t let the requirement for a captcha code put you off – it’s merely to ensure that all comments are from real people.  The day before I decided that Enough Was Enough, I had 208 items of spam to delete – all received in one day.

The Coffee-Mill Maker project is going well – I’m now about halfway through the 1871 census.   Slow work, but very interesting.  And – I am now the proud possessor of a Victorian coffee mill which was made in Wolverhampton.  Which I will happily admit was a wild extravagance, and which I don’t really need.

Wait, what am I saying??  Of course I need it! Even if I will be living on beans on toast for the next week.

I’ll post a photograph of the coffee mill just as soon as I can find where I’ve put the camera…

Have a successful week’s research.  Do let me know how your own researches are going.
